What is ADHD?

There are common questions like what is ADHD? or is ADHD a disability? Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a behavioral syndrome that is recognized by inattention and distractibility, restlessness, and inability. people with ADHD face difficulty in concentrating on one thing for a particular period of time.

It is a long-term condition that includes attention difficulty, impulsiveness, and hyperactivity. ADHD often starts in childhood and remain to continue in adulthood as well. It may lead to lower self-esteem, trouble in relationships, and academic issues.

Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) commonly occurs in childhood or adolescence. recent data says that the ADHD spectrum is three times more common in males than females and affected approximately 7 % of children worldwide. And the United States is among the top in psychiatric disorders.

What is ADHD?: ADD Vs. ADHD

ADD and ADHD are not different things. In the mid-1960s, world physicians began to classify individuals who had difficulty paying attention to demand as “mentally deficient”.

Various terms were used to describe this behavior like minimal brain damage and hyperkinesis. But in 1980 the (APA) replaced these terms with attention deficit disorder (ADD). And in 1987, ADD was merged with hyperactivity, and this syndrome was named attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, or ADHD.

Is ADHD A Disability?(What is ADHD?)

the question is ADHD a disability? it is hard to say that ADHD is a disability. But Yes, as per the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, section 504, USA it is categorized as a disability. And also in many other countries as well. the reason is if an ADHD person is severe and hampers the capacity to work or engage in the public sector, it should be called disability. People suffering from Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder face frequent behavior problems.

Is ADHD autism?(What is ADHD?)

Autism and ADHD spectrum are linked to each other in several ways, but still, ADHD is not autism. Yes, some of the same symptoms are the same.

What is worse ADHD or autism?

It is difficult and unfair to say that one is worse and other good. It Depends on your conditions. However both have their different strengths and weaknesses in different situations. And there are many factors to consider. However, on a general basis.

The good thing is that both are not illnesses these are conditions and with the right attitude and support where needed both neurotypes can lead normal – or even fulfilling lives.

Diffrence between ADHD and Autism

ADHD is a neurodevelopmental condition with a signs of hyperactivity, impulsivity, and inattention. And autism is also a neurodevelopmental condition, but it is characterized by social skills challenges like social interactions, communications, and repetitive behaviors.

Different causes and symptoms

When it comes to meeting societal norms and sensory processing, autism is far more challenging to deal with, and our options for places where we thrive are frequently constrained. You may say that ‘better functioning’ autistics have it easier, but disguising stress and expectations can make it more harder for them than for lower functioning autistics.

It is more mentally and emotionally taxing for someone to hide their autism the more they do so. We do have a tendency to be much better at concentrating on one task and working diligently to finish it. We also pay close attention to detail and enjoy delving deeply into abstract concepts, both of which may be major distractions and provide considerably greater fulfilment in certain circumstances.

People with ADHD often do well at multitasking and may find it simpler to keep up with fast-paced expectations. A person with ADHD can be able to digest information much more quickly than a person with autism. However, having trouble focusing or committing to a single task might result in depressive and unfulfilling sentiments. Persons with ADHD frequently feel understimulated and seek for more sensory input, whereas autistic people tend to fatigue more quickly and become easily overloaded.

It’s very difficult to say which one is ‘worse’ because both neurotypes equally have exceptional strengths too and I think it’s important that we focus more on those strengths instead of negative aspect.

Conclusion:
ADHD is a behavioral issue that humans are facing across the globe. still, we do not have the proper medicine or treatment for it. and the researches are ongoing and we hope we will soon have an appropriate medicine.
